MMD Coal Mine Resources Interactive Map

This web map displays information about New Mexico coal mines. The map includes general data about coal mines, coal fields and districts, geology, and soils. It was developed by the New Mexico Mining and Minerals Division (MMD), is a comprehensive interactive GIS (Geographic Information System) tool that provides detailed spatial data on coal mining activities and land ownership across the state. This tool supports informed decision-making for policymakers, researchers, land managers, and the public by visualizing the geographic extent, regulatory status, and ownership of coal-related resources in New Mexico.
