Description

NMFWRI Monitoring Work is a comprehensive web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) application developed by the New Mexico Forest and Watershed Restoration Institute (NMFWRI) to visualize and track monitoring projects conducted between 2007 and 2023 across New Mexico and surrounding regions. The interactive map displays various monitoring plot center locations marked with triangular symbols, primarily concentrated in the northern and central portions of New Mexico, with additional coverage extending into Colorado and Arizona. Users can explore different data layers including Field Monitoring Boundaries, Monitoring Plot Center Locations, New Mexico Mile Markers, and Hermit's Peak Calf Canyon Fire (HPCC) Burn Scar Final Perimeter, while also viewing land ownership information categorized by managing agencies such as the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Bureau of Reclamation, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Forest Service, National Park Service, State agencies, and private landowners. The application provides essential tools for researchers, land managers, and stakeholders to access spatial data, download geodatabases, and analyze forest and watershed restoration monitoring efforts across the southwestern United States region.
