Description

New Mexico Water Conditions is a comprehensive water monitoring application developed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) that provides real-time and continuous water data from 166 monitoring locations across New Mexico. The application displays water discharge measurements in cubic feet per second (ft³/s) from various rivers, arroyos, and waterways throughout the state, with data collected over the last 120 days and organized by county groupings including Bernalillo, Catron, Chaves, Cibola, Colfax counties, etc. Users can customize filters to view specific data types such as discharge, gage height, depth to water level, and water temperature, while the interactive map interface uses color-coded dots to indicate current condition estimates based on percentile rankings compared to historical daily averages (ranging from "extremely below" normal to "extremely above" normal conditions). The system allows users to bookmark locations as favorites, view detailed 7-day graphs for individual monitoring sites, and access comprehensive information about water flow conditions at specific locations like the Rio Grande, Pecos River, San Francisco River, and numerous arroyos, making it an essential tool for water resource management, flood monitoring, and environmental assessment across New Mexico.
