Description

The EnviroData-NM Environmental Resource Database of New Mexico is a comprehensive web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping application that provides access to extensive environmental and natural resource data across the state. This interactive platform allows users to explore and analyze multiple data layers including environmental quality indicators (air pollution permits, active mines, brownfields, water quality), sensitive plants and animals (critical habitats, species of concern), wetlands and ecosystems, community health metrics (asthma rates, poverty levels, cancer risk), oil and gas activity, renewable energy development, and various reference layers such as watersheds, geology, and land ownership. The application features an intuitive interface with expandable layer categories, search functionality, and mapping tools that enable researchers, policymakers, and the public to visualize spatial relationships between environmental factors, natural resources, and community health indicators throughout New Mexico, supporting informed decision-making for environmental management and public health planning.
