Visit Application

Description

Petroleum Storage Tank Facilities and Release Sites At a Glance is a comprehensive New Mexico environmental dashboard that provides statewide information on petroleum releases or spills across the state. This interactive mapping application allows users to view results by county or NM legislative district through dropdown menu selections, displaying both tabular charts and geographic visualizations that update based on user choices. The dashboard tracks critical environmental data including 2,029 releases requiring no further action (cleaned up sites), 1,012 active releases currently being addressed, and detailed facility information for 1,074 active underground storage tank (UST) facilities and 609 active above ground storage tank (AST) facilities throughout New Mexico. Users can analyze leaking petroleum storage tank release sites by priority levels, explore owner size categories of active underground storage tank facilities, examine the age distribution of active facilities grouped by their oldest tanks, and access facilities that maintain both UST and AST systems, making it an essential tool for environmental monitoring, regulatory compliance, and public awareness of petroleum contamination sites across the state.
