Description

Points Of Diversion Locations Map Viewer is an interactive geographic information system (GIS) application developed by the New Mexico Office of the State Engineer (OSE) to visualize and manage Points of Diversion (PODs)—locations where water is diverted from its natural source for use. The application provides users with a detailed, multi-layered map interface that displays Office of the State Engineer (OSE) District Boundaries, various Water Right Regulation areas (such as Critical Management Areas, Quality Restriction Areas, and Artesian Plan Areas), and live stream gauges. Users can customize their view using a wide range of basemaps (e.g., Topographic, National Geographic Style, Firefly Imagery Hybrid) and enable or disable numerous data layers, including Geographic Information System (GIS) WATERS (Water Administration Technical Engineering Resource System) Points of Diversion, conveyance structures (e.g., acequias, canals, drains), and boundaries for the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The tool supports water rights management, environmental monitoring, and infrastructure planning.
