Description

New Mexico State Land Office Oil, Gas, Minerals, Participating Areas (PAs), and Unit Agreements (UAs) Online Mapping Service is a web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) application that provides comprehensive mapping and data visualization tools for exploring oil, gas, and mineral resources on New Mexico State Trust Lands. The interactive mapping service displays multiple data layers including Unit Agreement Boundaries, Participating Areas in Units, Oil and Gas Geologic Regions, Potash Districts, and Land Status information showing Surface Estate, Subsurface Estate, and Both Estates categories. Users can navigate the map using standard zooming and panning tools, search for specific locations or features, identify properties by clicking on map features, measure distances and areas, draw shapes, create bookmarks for frequently accessed areas, and generate printable maps in various formats. The application also includes supporting layers such as New Mexico Oil Conservation Division (NMOCD) Wells, transportation networks, active leases, rights of way, and communitization agreements. The left panel provides access to all tools and layer controls, while the legend displays symbology for easy interpretation of map features, making it an essential resource for land managers, energy companies, researchers, and the public to access critical information about New Mexico's energy and mineral resources.
